Dilwara Temples

The Dilwara Temples are a marvel of Indian architecture and spirituality, widely regarded as one of the most

beautiful Jain temple complexes in the country. Built between the 11th and 13th centuries by the Solanki rulers, these temples are made entirely of white marble and are famous for their intricate carvings — so finely detailed that even thin marble layers appear translucent. The five temples in the complex are dedicated to different Jain Tirthankaras, with the Vimal Vasahi and Luna Vasahi being the most prominent. Visitors are captivated by the ornate ceilings, lotus engravings, and delicately sculpted pillars.

Nakki Lake

Set in the heart of Mount Abu, Nakki Lake is both a scenic attraction and a spot of mythological importance. Legend has it that it was dug by the gods using their nails ("nakh"), hence the name. Surrounded by rocky hills, lush gardens, and colonial-era structures, it’s perfect for boating, evening strolls, or simply relaxing by the water. The lake is also the site of cultural events during the summer festival and offers great photo opportunities, especially at sunset.

Guru Shikhar

The highest point in Rajasthan, Guru Shikhar stands at an altitude of 1,722 meters and offers spectacular panoramic views of the Aravalli range. On a clear day, you can see the entire stretch of forested hills and distant towns. The summit houses a temple dedicated to Lord Dattatreya, believed to be an incarnation of the Hindu Trinity: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. It’s a spiritually uplifting place, and the drive or trek to the top is as rewarding as the destination.

Sunset Point

Situated in the South West of Nakki Lake, Sunset Point is one of the most romantic and visited spots in Mount Abu. As the sun sets behind the hills, the sky turns vivid shades of orange and pink, creating a breathtaking view over the Aravalli hills. Ideal for couples, nature lovers, and photographers, this point gets lively in the evening with local vendors, snacks, and joyful crowds.

Honeymoon Point (Anadara Point)

Close to Sunset Point, Honeymoon Point offers a quieter atmosphere with equally stunning views. Perched 4000 feet above sea level, it’s named for the rock formations that resemble a man and woman. The spot is surrounded by thick forest and deep valleys, making it a romantic and peaceful getaway from the hustle.

Achalgarh Fort and Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple

Built by the Parmar rulers and later renovated by Maharana Kumbha in the 14th century, Achalgarh Fort stands as a historical monument with immense heritage value. Though now partially in ruins, it provides great trekking and exploration opportunities. Nearby lies the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, famous for the toe-shaped footprint of Shiva and a brass Nandi (bull) said to be made from five metals.

Toad Rock

This naturally shaped rock structure near Nakki Lake resembles a giant toad poised to leap into the water, hence its name. Visitors love climbing to the top for panoramic views of Nakki Lake and the surrounding hills. It’s a fun and quirky stop, especially for families and kids.

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary

Spanning about 288 square kilometers, this lush sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including leopards, sloth bears, wild boars, foxes, and hundreds of bird species. Nature lovers and trekkers can explore dense forests, rare plant species, and refreshing streams. It’s an unexpected slice of wilderness in Rajasthan’s arid terrain.
