Overview

Sariska Tiger Reserve, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, is one of India’s most accessible wildlife sanctuaries, just around 110 km from Jaipur. Nestled in the Aravalli Hills, it spans an area of over 880 sq. km and is a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Originally a hunting preserve of the Alwar royal family, Sariska was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and later became a tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1978. It is now home to a small but growing population of Royal Bengal Tigers, along with a rich variety of wildlife.

Flora and Fauna

The reserve is predominantly covered with dry deciduous forests, rocky hills, and grasslands. It shelters a variety of wildlife including leopards, striped hyenas, jackals, sambar deer, nilgai, wild boars, and langurs, as well as many species of birds like crested serpent eagles, peafowls, and woodpeckers.

Day 01

06:00 AM

Begin your journey early with a hotel or home pickup in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. The drive through the scenic Aravalli hills sets the tone for the adventure.

Reach Sariska and enjoy a short break for tea/snacks near the reserve before your safari begins.

09:00 AM

Board an open 6-seater gypsy and begin your guided wildlife safari through the core zones of Sariska Tiger Reserve. Accompanied by a trained naturalist, look out for tigers, leopards, sambar deer, nilgai, jackals, langurs, and a wide variety of birds.

If time and permits allow, visit this historic hilltop fort inside the reserve offering panoramic views and a glimpse of Mughal-era history.
